Today’s friendly reminders:
1. Preparing for an extended drive: Today’s journey will take over 7 hours, and may actually take longer. Please ensure you have a power bank, plenty of snacks and drinking water, and take breaks to stretch your legs along the way.
2. High-altitude lakeside climate: Lake Sayram is situated at an altitude of approximately 2,070 metres; it is very cold in the evening and at night, with strong winds. Please ensure you bring warm clothing such as a thick, windproof jacket, a fleece, a hat and a scarf.
3. Accommodation conditions: Accommodation options at Lake Sayram are scarce, and facilities are relatively basic compared to city hotels; the focus is on the unique location and experience. Please have reasonable expectations regarding facilities and understand that hot water may be available only at specific times.
4. Sun Protection and Hydration: Sunlight is intense during the day whilst travelling and at the lakeside, with extremely strong UV rays. Please ensure you take adequate sun protection measures throughout the trip (sun cream, sunglasses, sun hat) and stay well hydrated.

You can venture along the paths through the fields to take romantic and picturesque photographs to your heart’s content
➤ 16:30–18:00 Arrive in Yining City and head to 【Six-Star Street】 for a stroll

➤ 21:00–21:30 Check in at your hotel in Yining. For dinner, feel free to sample local specialities such as grilled buns, ‘mianfeizi’ (wheat flour ‘lungs’) and handmade yoghurt.

Tips for today:
1. Lavender blooming season: Today’s itinerary coincides with the lavender blooming season (approximately mid-June to early July). If you are travelling outside this period, visits to the lavender fields cannot be arranged; the actual itinerary will be subject to availability at the time of travel.
2. Sun protection and hydration: Today’s itinerary includes plenty of outdoor activities, and the summer sun is intense in the Ili River Valley. Please ensure you take thorough sun protection measures (sun cream, sun hat, sunglasses) and carry plenty of drinking water to stay hydrated and prevent heatstroke.
3. Transport and Walking: The lakeside tour, as well as visits to Kazanqi and Liuxing Street, involve a fair amount of walking; please wear comfortable, sturdy footwear. Traffic in Yining city centre may be congested in the evening, so please allow for some flexibility in your schedule.
4. Respect for Local Customs: During home visits in Kazanqi, please respect the living habits and etiquette of the local ethnic minorities, and politely seek permission before taking photographs of people.
5. Dining Options: Yining offers a rich variety of cuisine, with numerous speciality restaurants and food stalls around Liuxing Street and Kazanqi for you to explore at your leisure. Please note that queues may form at popular restaurants during the peak season.
6. Preparing for Temperature Changes: Summer evenings in Yining city centre are cool and comfortable, but it is still advisable to bring a light jacket.
Yining
D4Day 4: Yining – Yizhao Highway (to be arranged once open) – Xata Ancient Trail National Forest Park – distant view of the Muzart Glacier – Zhaosu (approx. 480 km, approx. 8 hours’ drive. Does not include time for meals, toilet breaks, traffic delays, etc.)
Recommended hotel: Tancheng (room type cannot be specified)
The following itinerary times are for reference only; actual times may vary:

➤ 07:30–08:00 After breakfast at the hotel, we will set off as early as possible. We will head to Xata, hailed as a ‘pure land’, to embark on an expedition that will delight both body and eyes.
➤ 08:00–14:00 Crossing the ‘Heavenly Road’: Yining–Zhaosu Highway or the River Valley Corridor
· If the Yizhao Highway is open: We shall have the privilege of travelling along the Yizhao Highway, known as the ‘Little Duku’. This is a thrilling and spectacular scenic route that crosses the Wusun Mountains and passes by White Stone Peak; the road winds between cliffs and grasslands, offering truly breathtaking views (the road is typically open from June to October, but may be closed at any time due to weather conditions).
· If the Yizhao Highway is closed: We will take a detour via Tekes. Whilst this route lacks the rugged mountain passes, it offers views of the idyllic scenery of the Ili River Valley and a distant vista of Tekes’ Bagua City. Regardless of the route taken, a light meal will be arranged en route.
➤ 14:00–15:30 Arrival at the ‘Gateway to the Hidden Realm’, [Xiata Ancient Trail National Forest Park]
Arrival at the visitor centre. Transfer to the scenic area shuttle bus and travel deeper into the Xata River Valley. The journey takes approximately 1 hour, with towering spruce trees and meadows lining both sides of the road, whilst the snow-capped peaks of the Muzart Glacier in the distance serve as a constant guide.
➤ 15:30–19:30 Easy hike! Head towards the glacier and reach the electric cart terminus (General’s Bridge) near the hot spring hotel, where today’s main activity begins: 【Easy Hike Experience】.
1. Starting point: Follow the well-marked bridle path as you make your way gently into the heart of the snow-capped mountains. Beneath your feet lies a meadow blooming with wildflowers; beside you flows the rushing Xata River, and the air is crisp and fresh.
2. Destination and scenery: After a hike of approximately 1–1.5 hours (one way), you’ll reach Kara House No. 1 or No. 2. Here, the view suddenly opens up; the vast snowfields of the Muzart Glacier seem within arm’s reach, with the glacier tongue cascading down from the summit of the snow-capped mountains, glistening with a stark silver light—a truly awe-inspiring sight. This is an excellent vantage point for viewing the glacier from a distance.
3. Free time and return journey: Stay here to take photographs, reflect in silence and feel the majesty of nature. Afterwards, return along the same route to General’s Bridge and take the electric cart and shuttle bus out of the scenic area. (The hiking distance and endpoint will be flexibly adjusted according to the group’s overall fitness and weather conditions.)
➤ 19:30–21:00 After assembling, travel by coach to Zhaosu County town (journey time approx. 1.5 hours). Check in upon arrival. Compared to the limited facilities at Xiata, Zhaosu County Town offers more comprehensive accommodation options, allowing you to rest well after the strenuous hike and treat yourself to a dinner of your choice (there are plenty of options in the county town).

Today’s friendly reminders:
1. Uncertainties regarding the Yi-Zhao Highway: Access to this road is strictly controlled, and there is significant uncertainty as to whether it will be passable. Should we need to take a detour, please understand that this is the best choice for safety.
2. Hiking preparation is crucial:
· Footwear: You must wear comfortable, non-slip trainers or hiking boots.
· Clothing: Mountain weather can change in an instant, so be sure to adopt the ‘layered clothing method’: a quick-drying base layer, a warm mid-layer (fleece or light down), and a windproof and waterproof outer layer (a waterproof jacket). Even in summer, it can be very cold at the foot of the glacier.
· Equipment: We recommend bringing walking poles to conserve energy, as well as high-calorie snacks, plenty of drinking water, sun cream, and a raincoat or umbrella.
3. Safety first: Please stay on the main path whilst hiking; do not wade through water or leave the group without authorisation. Respect nature and take all your rubbish with you.
Zhaosu
D5Day 5: Zhaosu – [Qapqi Lake], a little-known hidden gem – X765 Baoke-Banshan Highway – self-drive to Kuerdening – Qimengde Viewpoint – welcome ceremony with horse milk wine and khata – archery – holding a lamb – grassland bonfire – Nalati (approx. 370 km, approx. 5.5 hours’ drive. Does not include time for meals, toilet breaks, traffic delays, etc.)
Recommended hotels: Jin Kunlun / Wangshan Ting Shui / Wanglinyuan or similar (specific hotels cannot be requested)
The following itinerary times are for reference only; actual times may vary:

➤ 08:30–09:30 Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in Zhaosu. Today we shall depart this tranquil county town and head deep into the Tianshan Mountains to another World Natural Heritage Site.
➤ 09:30–12:30: Travelling through the off-the-beaten-track hidden gem [Qiapuqi Lake]
We set off by coach, travelling eastwards across the vast Zhaosu grasslands before turning onto the Baoke-Banshan Highway towards the Kuerdening Scenic Area. The scenery along the way gradually transitions from flat rapeseed fields (in summer) to undulating mountainous woodland landscapes, until we reach the entrance to the scenic area.
➤ 13:30–14:30 Enjoy a light meal within the scenic area or near the entrance
➤ 14:30–17:30 Explore the depths of [Kurdning], hike to the Qimengde Viewpoint
Begin the core experience of Kurdning:
1. Drive through the Spruce Gallery: Drive along the valley at the foot of Mount Kabambai, flanked on both sides by dense, primeval spruce forests on the snow-capped ridges. It feels as though you are driving through a cool, green tunnel, allowing you to experience the tranquillity and vitality of ‘the most beautiful green valley in the Tianshan Mountains’.
2. Hike to the classic vantage point: Alight at the Qimengde hiking trailhead and begin the ascent to the [Qimengde Viewpoint]. This is a continuous uphill climb and will be the main test of your stamina today. Upon reaching the viewing platform, a magnificent panorama unfolds before your eyes: in the foreground, undulating alpine meadows; in the middle, a sea of deep-green spruce forest; and in the distance, the pyramid-shaped snow-capped peak of Kabambai. With these three layers of scenery arranged vertically in a perfect composition, this is a textbook-perfect vantage point for capturing the three-dimensional landscape of the Tianshan Mountains.
➤ 17:30–18:30 Experience [Welcome Wine and Khataga Presentation – Archery – Holding a Lamb – Grassland Bonfire]
Amidst the grasslands and mountains, you’ll encounter the warm hospitality of the north-western ethnic groups. Don a khataga, take aim at the archery target, and immerse yourself in the charm of the grasslands. Hold a lamb for a memorable photo. As dusk gradually falls, light a bonfire, break into a dance, and enjoy the moment together.
➤ 18:30–20:30 Drive to the renowned town of Nalati. As the altitude drops, the landscape transforms once more into the open grasslands of the Gongnais River Valley. We expect to arrive in the early evening. After checking into the hotel, you are free to go out for dinner and soak up the town’s atmosphere.

Tips for today:
1. Journey times and time management: Today’s total driving time is considerable, and the hike in Kuerdening will take some time, so the day’s itinerary needs to be tightly organised. Please ensure you follow the arrangements and meet at the designated time.
2. Hike difficulty and options: The hike to the Qimengde Viewpoint involves a continuous uphill climb, taking approximately 1.5–2 hours round trip, and places some demands on your knees and stamina. Please assess your fitness level accordingly; you must wear professional non-slip hiking boots.
3. Mountain Climate and Clothing: Kurdunying has dense vegetation and a cool, humid climate; due to its high altitude, there is a significant temperature difference compared to Zhaosu and Nalati. Please bring a windproof jacket or waterproof jacket and carry rain gear with you. You may add or remove layers as needed during the hike.

Tips for today:
1. Grassland climate and clothing: The Sky Grassland has intense, unobstructed sunlight, so strict sun protection is essential (sun cream, hat, sunglasses, sun-protective clothing). Afternoon tea is served outdoors, and as winds are strong and temperatures drop during the evening transfer, please ensure you have a windproof jacket to hand.
2. Light Travel Photography Service Details:
· The complimentary set of 6 selected photographs will be sent in bulk 3 days later.
· Photography sessions are conducted in small groups on a rolling basis; this is not a one-to-one exclusive photo shoot.

In the event of the Duku Highway closure:
Nalati – National Highway 218 – Tianshan Victory Tunnel – Urumqi
or Nalati – Yining Railway Station (train tickets at your own expense) – Urumqi

Friendly Reminders for Today:
1. Preparing for an extended drive: Today is the longest and most gruelling day of the entire journey by road; please ensure you are mentally prepared. Please bring plenty of drinking water, snacks and a neck pillow, and take breaks at service areas as needed to avoid fatigue.
2. Special notes regarding the Duku Highway:
· Road conditions: The Duku Highway is open seasonally (typically June–October) and is highly susceptible to weather conditions; it may be temporarily closed at any time due to rain, snow, landslides, etc. There is uncertainty as to whether the journey can proceed smoothly. In the event of a road closure, we will take a detour via other national highways back to Urumqi or transfer you to Yining Railway Station (train tickets at your own expense), which will significantly increase the journey distance and duration.
· Altitude and Temperature: The section passing through Daban is at a high altitude, and you may experience mild symptoms such as ringing in the ears. Temperatures at the summit are very low (even in summer they may be close to 0°C), so you must wear a thick coat when getting out of the vehicle to view the scenery.
3. Clothing: Today’s itinerary involves a significant temperature difference between the cool mountainous areas and the warmer city; we recommend dressing in layers so that you can easily add or remove clothing as needed.
4. End of the itinerary: We will arrive in Urumqi relatively late today. If you have a flight or train departing that evening or in the early hours of the following morning, please ensure you confirm the transfer arrangements with the travel agency in advance and allow ample time for the journey.

If you insist on single occupancy, you must pay the full single room supplement (the specific amount is subject to the itinerary quotation).
Accommodation Rules for Groups
For groups traveling together (e.g., families or groups) with an odd number of members, the travel agency will match room partners by gender based on the room-sharing resources available on the day of travel. For example: If a family of three is traveling and the only available room-sharing partner on that day is a single male traveler, the male family member will be required to share a room with him; those who object must pay the single room supplement.
Rules for Children Not Sharing Rooms
This tour does not allow travelers with children to share rooms. If you are traveling alone with a child, you must pay the single room supplement before departure.
IV. Regarding Accommodations: As Xinjiang is still a less developed region, hotels differ significantly from those in mainland China, especially in scenic areas. We can only guarantee that they are clean and sanitary. Even so, rooms are hard to come by during peak season. Most hotels do not have triple rooms.
V. Seat Rotation: This is a shared ride, not a private charter. To ensure fairness throughout the itinerary, seats must be rotated daily!
VI. Driver and Guide Services: This tour does not include a tour guide; only a driver is provided. Due to the driver’s educational background and the complex road conditions in Xinjiang’s mountainous regions, long-distance driving requires a high level of concentration. The driver will remain vigilant throughout the trip and cannot be distracted by excessive conversation or interaction with passengers. Your safety is our top priority. Please prepare your own itinerary in advance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
VII. Regarding Pricing: Tour package prices are subject to dynamic factors such as booking timing, channel policies, the scale of resource procurement, and hotel availability. Reasonable price differences between different batches of orders are a normal market phenomenon, and price discrepancies will not be addressed. Thank you for your understanding.
Costs include:
1. Transport: A spacious, licensed seven-seater business vehicle with a 1+1 seating configuration for the duration of the itinerary, including but not limited to models such as Yutong, Zhongtong, Yaxing, Ford T8, Higer, JAC Xingrui and Ford Fushun. The seating layout consists of 1+1 individual seats. Specific vehicle models cannot be specified. Due to limited space inside the vehicle, we recommend that each person bring no more than one suitcase measuring 28 inches or less.
2. Airport transfers: Typically, a standard five-seater car for groups of three or fewer, and a standard business vehicle for groups of four or more;
3. Accommodation: 7 nights’ accommodation at the hotels listed in the itinerary, comprising 1 night at a Ctrip 5-Diamond Courtyard B&B, 1 night at the Nalati Cloud Edge Campsite, 1 night at the Nalati Flower Field B&B or Mountain View Campsite, 2 nights at a Ctrip 4-Diamond hotel, 1 night at a 4-Diamond hotel on Lake Sayram, and 1 night at a Comfort Hotel. Standard double rooms for two people are the default arrangement;
4. Entrance fees: Entrance fees for Lake Sayram and self-drive access; Xata entrance fees and shuttle bus/Kurdning entrance fees and self-drive access; Nalati self-drive entrance fees;
5. Activities: ‘Glowing Pastures’ Afternoon Tea at 60 per person (included in the package; a refund will be issued at this rate if participation is not possible due to weather conditions). As listed in the itinerary, the welcome drink, khata presentation, archery, holding a lamb, grassland bonfire and ‘Glowing Pastures’ Afternoon Tea are recreational activities within the scenic areas. These are organised by the scenic areas based on factors such as the day’s weather and group size, and are subject to the actual arrangements made by the scenic areas. No refunds will be issued if these activities are not available.
6. Driver: This tour does not include a tour guide; only a driver is provided. The travel agency covers the driver’s accommodation and meals. Due to limitations in educational background, the driver is unable to provide professional commentary. Furthermore, for safety reasons, the driver may be unable to interact with the group whilst concentrating on driving. We ask all participants to be understanding and to prepare their own travel itineraries in advance.
7. Meals: No main meals are included throughout the tour; only breakfast is provided (breakfast is not included in Kanas, Hemu or Baihabah and must be covered by participants).
8. Insurance: The travel agency will purchase ‘Baoyou Wang Baoyou Changxin You’ domestic travel insurance (exclusive to travel agencies) on behalf of travellers. The maximum cover for travel accident insurance is 200,000 yuan. The specific scope of claims and liability shall be subject to the terms of the policy. We recommend that guests purchase additional insurance with higher coverage limits at their own discretion!
Costs do not include: This tour package does not include a tour guide!
1. Meals: Breakfast is not included in Kanas, Hemu and Baihabah; main meals are not included throughout the tour (tourists are not required to contribute towards the driver’s board and lodging)
2. Attractions: Recreational activities within scenic areas
3. Other: A. Additional costs arising from force majeure circumstances such as traffic delays, strikes, weather conditions, flight disruptions, mechanical breakdowns, flight cancellations or schedule changes; B. Personal expenses incurred at hotels, including laundry, hairdressing, telephone calls, faxes, pay-per-view television, beverages, tobacco and alcohol; Expenses arising from the above two categories, as well as any costs not mentioned in the ‘Included’ section, shall be borne by the traveller and will not be covered by our agency.
4. Optional Activities: Various recreational activities within the scenic areas, such as horse riding, river rafting, paragliding, helicopter tours, etc. (including but not limited to the above activities). Tourists are advised to participate with caution and give full consideration to the risks involved; these activities do not fall within the scope of the travel agency’s services.
5. Excess mileage charges: In accordance with regulations set by the Transport Administration Bureau, drivers of commercial vehicles in Xinjiang are limited to 600 kilometres per day. Should this limit be exceeded, drivers face substantial fines ranging from 20,000 to 100,000 or the revocation of their operating licence. Therefore, for travel outside the scheduled itinerary, we recommend that you arrange your own transport, such as taxis or other suitable means of transport. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
6. Contractual notes: Please be advised that the routes you have selected are predominantly in mountainous areas where weather conditions are highly variable. Before your visit, please monitor weather updates for your destination and decide for yourself whether to proceed. Should weather conditions change and you still choose to travel, any additional costs incurred as a result of stranding—including accommodation, meals and return travel—will be borne by you personally.
7. The itinerary schedule outlined above is subject to adjustment in the order of visits due to force majeure factors such as flight arrivals and departures, weather conditions and road conditions, provided that this does not affect the itinerary or the standard of hospitality. We appreciate your understanding!
Restrictions on Eligible Participants:
Our agency does not currently accept the following individuals for group tours:
1. Pregnant women
Due to the possibility of bumpy roads, altitude sickness, or limitations on emergency rescue capabilities during the trip, and to ensure the safety of both mother and child, pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy are not permitted to register for group tours.
2. Infants and toddlers under three years of age
We do not accept infants and toddlers who are unable to move independently.
3. Elderly travelers
• Ages 70–74: In addition to a health certificate, one immediate family member under the age of 60 must accompany the traveler for the entire trip;
• Ages 75 and above: Due to insurance coverage restrictions and high-risk emergency response requirements, we regret that we cannot accommodate travelers in this age group.
4. Minors Traveling Alone
• Individuals under the age of 18 must provide a letter of authorization from a legal guardian and be accompanied by at least one adult relative. Minors without a relative accompanying them will not be accepted.
5. Travelers with Disabilities:
• As the itinerary involves complex terrain such as high-altitude regions and mountainous areas, and includes activities such as extended periods of travel by vehicle and hiking, we are currently unable to accommodate travelers with limited mobility or those requiring special assistance for safety reasons. We appreciate your understanding.
6. Travelers from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Foreign Nationals:
• Some itineraries involve border regions; prior confirmation is required to determine whether entry is permitted for foreign nationals.
7. Group Bookings of Six or More People:
We will allocate participants to two separate vehicles based on actual capacity (each vehicle constitutes an independent small group). Each vehicle may follow a different itinerary pace or make different stops along the way. Insisting on parallel travel may disrupt the experience plans of other groups and even cause delays to the entire itinerary. Therefore, we cannot guarantee coordinated travel between vehicles; we appreciate your understanding. If this is a concern, please book an exclusive group tour.
Special Notes:
• In accordance with relevant provisions of the *Tourism Law*, travelers are obligated to truthfully disclose their health status. Travelers shall bear full responsibility for any consequences resulting from the concealment of their health status. The travel agency reserves the right to terminate the contract without liability for compensation;
• These terms are formulated in accordance with the *Standards for Travel Agencies’ Services to Senior Citizens*, the *Minors Protection Law*, and insurance underwriting rules.
Please note: This is a nationwide group tour for 2–6 people. The tour runs with a minimum of 2 participants and a maximum of 6. We cannot guarantee the age, gender or number of fellow travellers; we appreciate your understanding.
1. When booking, please ensure you provide accurate and complete personal details and contact information to avoid booking errors that may affect your trip. The travel agency accepts no liability for any inaccuracies in the information provided due to the guest’s own reasons.
2. For complimentary activities included in the itinerary, no refunds will be issued if participation is prevented by force majeure (such as transport or weather conditions) or if the guest is unable to participate for personal reasons.
3. If you choose to leave the group partway through the trip, the uncompleted portion will be deemed to have been voluntarily forfeited. Only the unused portion of your package will be refunded; transport costs are non-refundable.
4. During the trip, should an attraction be closed due to force majeure, preventing normal visits, both parties shall consult and, based on the actual circumstances, cancel or replace the attraction; any difference in cost will be refunded or paid on the spot.
5. Guests holding any form of identification entitling them to attraction discounts must inform us in advance and present their identification when purchasing tickets; specific arrangements will be subject to the attraction’s policies on the day of visit.
6. Rules for calculating the duration of the tour: If you are participating in a tour commencing and ending within mainland China, the total number of days stated for this product includes the time spent on outward and return journeys (the outward flight counts as 1 day, and the return flight counts as 1 day). Please ensure you fully understand these rules for calculating the tour duration when signing the contract. Should any misunderstanding regarding the tour duration arise due to personal reasons, the travel agency reserves the right to reject unreasonable claims. (Tourists travelling within Xinjiang only may disregard this clause)
7. Cuisine: Flavours in Xinjiang tend to be stronger, with spiciness slightly more pronounced than in other parts of mainland China. When ordering dishes or sampling local delicacies, it is advisable to eat small portions frequently. Meal times: As there is a time difference of approximately two hours between Xinjiang and the mainland (though Beijing Time is still observed), breakfast is generally served around 08:00, lunch between 14:00 and 16:00, and dinner around 20:00. Please bring your own snacks in advance.
8. As Xinjiang’s economy lags behind that of the mainland, there are significant differences between hotels of the same grade in Xinjiang and those on the mainland, as well as between accommodation in scenic areas and hotels of the same grade in cities. We ask that you be fully prepared for this.
9. Itinerary notes: The above itinerary may be subject to appropriate adjustments based on actual weather and temperature conditions on the day.
