I’ve returned from a guided tour through Xinjiang—here are my honest impressions!

Recommendation Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Last month, while I was between jobs, I signed up with a friend for their 10-day tour of Xinjiang. Although the trip was a bit hectic, we got to take in Xinjiang’s breathtaking scenery and experience the local culture and customs along the way. The overall experience far exceeded my expectations—I highly recommend it!
Since I wasn’t familiar with the road conditions in Xinjiang and didn’t want to spend a lot of time researching and planning the route myself, I compared options and chose their small group tour. The personal concierge service was very attentive. After we communicated the attractions we wanted to visit and our travel needs, they quickly provided a tailored itinerary along with a comprehensive list of travel precautions. Communication was efficient, pricing was transparent, and we finalized the itinerary and paid the deposit in no time.
💰 Trip Overview: This 10-day trip included accommodation, transportation, a professional driver-guide, travel insurance, and drone photography. Meals were not included in the tour package, so we ate on our own. Xinjiang portions are very generous—the two of us spent about 40 per person per meal, and we spent around 400 on snacks along the way. **There were absolutely no hidden fees throughout the entire trip—it was a truly “pure sightseeing” tour, which was especially reassuring.**
We got along very well with our fellow travelers and even helped each other take photos along the way. The entire trip was well-organized, the service was top-notch, and we had a truly relaxing time. We still haven’t had enough—we’re already planning our next trip to Xinjiang to explore other routes in greater depth!
Here are a few practical tips for anyone planning a trip to Xinjiang:
⭕ Tip 1: Roads can be slippery after rain in some areas, so be sure to bring shoes with deep treads for safety.
⭕ Tip 2: I don’t recommend bringing a Polaroid camera. Temperatures in some parts of Xinjiang are quite low, which can cause issues with the film. DSLRs and drones produce better results for photography during the trip.
⭕ Tip 3: Always carry tissues with you—many restaurants don’t provide free napkins, so you’ll need to buy them separately.
⭕ Tip 4: Keep an eye out for flight deals—scoring a bargain ticket can save you a significant amount of money.
