The “Switzerland of China” is right here in Xinjiang.

Ah Xin
The scenery in Xinjiang is truly breathtaking—you can’t get enough of it. We were snapping photos nonstop the whole way, and the entire trip was a blast. We also highly recommend going with a small group; six people is the ideal size for a fantastic experience.
- The price isn’t much different from that of a large group tour.
- Many off-the-beaten-path attractions are only accessible by small vehicles; large tour buses simply can’t get in.
- Hotels within the scenic areas have limited room availability. With large groups, it’s actually harder to secure accommodations, whereas small groups find it much easier to book rooms.
- If a large group can only book a hotel in a remote location, it will significantly increase travel time; this would take even longer if traveling by large tour bus.

One more piece of advice: if you want to make the most of your trip and avoid spending every day on the road, we recommend planning for 10 to 12 days—that’s just right. If you plan for too few days, you’ll end up constantly rushing from place to place, which can be exhausting.
